PROCESS
A clear, organized process with transparent communication and consistent timelines.
Our Process
Thank you for taking the time to explore our process.

We understand that remodeling is not something most homeowners deal with every day.
When the process isn’t clear, it can quickly feel overwhelming or stressful.
Our goal is to remove that uncertainty by explaining how a project with Building Encore typically unfolds — from the first conversation to final completion.

Over the years, we have worked closely with homeowners and gained a clear understanding of what they need most: structure, transparency, and a process that feels manageable from start to finish. Based on that experience, we have refined our approach into a clear, step-by-step framework designed to keep projects moving smoothly and predictably.
Below are the five key stages that guide every project we take on. We hope this overview helps you feel informed and confident — even before reaching out.

If, after reviewing our process, you decide that our approach aligns with what you’re looking for, we would be glad to continue the conversation.

Phase1
Initial Consultation & Project Fit
Every project begins with a conversation.
Once you reach out, we schedule an on-site meeting to understand your goals, the scope of work, and the general investment range you have in mind.
This initial consultation allows us to align expectations early and establish a clear foundation for a successful project.

Design direction naturally becomes part of the early conversation. If you are already working with a designer, we are happy to collaborate and coordinate directly.
When a design professional is not yet involved, we discuss how establishing a clear direction — whether through a designer or preliminary drawings — can bring clarity to the project, reduce revisions during construction, and support a smoother overall process.

The purpose of this phase is not to finalize every detail, but to build a thoughtful foundation that allows the project to move forward with confidence.

Phase 2
Design & Planning

With the initial direction set, the project moves into the design and planning phase.
This stage focuses on turning ideas into a clear vision through drawings, layouts, and material choices.
Design services are provided in partnership with trusted designers or architects, depending on the project's needs and complexity.

Our role is to coordinate the process, offer constructability input, and ensure that design decisions stay within budget and scope.
When architectural drawings or permits are needed, we assist with coordination and communication, including working with the architect and addressing municipal comments as necessary.
This ensures the project is fully prepared and compliant before construction begins.

By the end of this phase, the project will have a defined scope, a clear design direction, and the documentation required to proceed with confidence.
Phase 3
Pre-Construction & Project Setup
Before construction begins, the project is carefully prepared and organized.

During this phase, we finalize the construction plan, establish a detailed project timeline, and coordinate logistics to ensure seamless execution.
Clients receive a clear overview of how the project will unfold from start to finish, including key milestones and defined expectations.

A dedicated project manager oversees this preparation, confirms material lead times, and ensures all elements are aligned before setting the official start date.

A pre-construction meeting is scheduled to review site logistics, communication procedures, access, parking, and overall coordination.
By the time construction begins, the project is fully aligned — allowing work to proceed without unnecessary delays or uncertainty.

Phase 4
Construction Phase

With planning complete, construction begins.

This phase is defined by disciplined execution, consistent oversight, and respect for the home. Protection measures are implemented from day one to safeguard existing finishes, isolate work areas, and minimize dust and disruption throughout the process.

The project manager and field team remain actively engaged on site, monitoring quality, progress, and schedule while maintaining a clean and organized site.

Communication remains steady, keeping clients informed and aligned at every stage of the build. When adjustments are needed, they are discussed openly and addressed carefully to maintain the integrity of the original plan.
Phase 5
Completion & Continued Care
As the project nears completion, attention shifts to fine-tuning, quality, and final details.

A final walkthrough is conducted to review the finished work, address any remaining items, and ensure everything meets expectations.
Afterwards, the site is carefully cleaned and prepared for use, allowing clients to fully enjoy the completed space.

Our involvement does not end on the final day of construction.
We stand behind our work and remain available should any questions arise.
The goal is not simply to complete a project, but to build a lasting relationship founded on trust, quality, and long-term value.
